At My Quilt Shoppe, we are committed to educating you from purchase and beyond.

CLUBS:

Looking for a Club or Group to fullfill some of your fancies. We have several Clubs and/or Groups that meet monthly to further develop sewing and quilting skills and to stimulate your creative side.

Please feel free to jump in at any time. We would love to see you this month!!

 


The Thimbleberries Club 2010—Village Green

First Saturday of Each Month • 10am-11am

and

First Monday of Each Month • 3pm-4pm

Teacher: Barbara Goodman

My Quilt Shoppe will be doing the Midnight colorway.

Our Fabric samples are in the classroom for your review.

If you are interested, please sign up so we can make sure we have an ample supply of patterns and fabric.

Not able to attend meetings? No problem. We will be glad to mail your monthly kit to you. S&H will apply to mail order kits.

 


Bernina Babes

First Saturday of Each Month 11am-1pm

Teachers: Barbara Goodman

Fee:$16.00 plus supplies

Join us to learn new techniques using your Bernina sewing/embroidery machine.

January Project: Doorstop or pin cushion, learn free standing applique. Sign up required. Samples in Shoppe now.

This was the December Project but due to bad weather it had to be rescheduled.

Pfaff Club Third Monday of Each Month • 10:30am-11:30pm

Bring your Pfaff and join our club. We meet third Monday of the month from 10:30am-11:30am. Sign Up Required.

Calendar will have each monthly project posted with supply list.

 


Hoop Group

Third Monday of Each Month 1pm-3pm

Teacher: Lanna

Fee $16.00 per month

In this first quarter of 2010, learn your Grand Hoop and complete our tree skirt for Christmas. We will explore the endless hoop next.

 


Quilting with Carol

Will resume in January 2010—Snowman Wallhanging

Second Tuesday of Each Month • 2pm-4:30pm

Teacher: Carol Kellogg

Each month we will be making a different wallhanging. A sample of the project will be hanging in the classroom the first of each month. Homemade treats will be at each class. Sign up required!

Dogwood Bliss BOM 2009

Fourth Thursday of Each Month 2:15-3:15 Teacher: Marie

We will be introducing a new BOM with Marie in Jan-Feb.

 


MQS Strip Club 2009

Serger Club

Third Saturday of Each Month • 2:00pm-3:30pm Teacher: Ruth Ann Fortunato

Serger Club will alternate each month with a specific Club for regular Serger Owners and on the following month for Serber Owners with the Cover and Chain capability. Each club will meet the 3rd Saturday of each month for 1 1/2 hours.

All Serger owners are welcome. Sign-up required to receive supply list.

 


Heirloom Sewing Club

2nd Friday of Each Month • 1pm-4pm Teacher: Margaret Jamison

Learn to use all of those beautiful decorative stitches on your machine while learning simple "heirloom sewing by machine techniques" for women's and children's clothing, tea towels, pillows, beautiful quilts and other fine projects.

 


Kidz Club

Second Saturday of Each Month • 10:30-12:30pm Teachers: Nancy & Janice

Fee - $16 per class -  supplies

The age old art of quilting is one we all want to pass down to the next generation. Let MQS help you teach your child/grandchild the basics of quilting, and machine usage and safety. We do a different project each month and work on a large quilt all year long.

Bernina Mastery Classes

We will resume classes in January.

Each class will explore the "feet"ures of your Bernina and create a sample workbook. All Bernina owners are welcome. The CD workbook is provided. Sign up is required to join.

This class is for new owner's to learn what to do with all those feet you got with your machine and play with all the new stitches too. If you purchased your machine at MQS these classes are provided free of  charge*. However, if you did not purchase your machine at MQS you are still welcome to join us for a nominal class fee.

Quilting 101 - Beginning Quilting Class

Fee: $85.00 includes 4 classes Jan 13, 2, 27, & Feb 3rd

Quilting workshop for beginners. Make a lovely quilt that looks much more difficult than it really is. Learn to master techniques such as rotary cutting, strip piecing, getting perfect points, making the quilt sandwich, basic machine quilting and binding.

Machine Applique

Have fun learning Machine Applique techniques that will allow you to easily create wonderful designs on your quilts. Learn various stitching techniques, stabilizing, thread usage, design transfer, easy thread locking techniques and much more.

 


Machine Quilting Confidence 101 - Beginner Class or a Refresher Class

Here is an opportunity to build your confidence with machine quilting. We will explore innovative ways to use your walking foot to do fun machine guided quilting and then we will movfe on to using your darning foot for free motion quilting. I will spend time with you to help you understand how the materials you use affect your work covering threads, needles, batting and layering. This class is designed to get you started and on your way with this fun aspect of quilting.

 


Rug Hooking
